How to Refresh Launchpad in Mac OS X

One-Line Terminal Command to Refresh Launchpad Contents in OS X

If you are comfortable with the command line, you can also do this entire process through the Terminal with the following commands:

rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db ; killall Dock

Be sure to issue that command exactly as written, because the rm command is powerfuland will delete everything without asking, and * is a wildcard for any files matching the *.db name (meaning, anything that ends with .db).

If you want control over exactly what shows up in Launchpad rather than just creating a bunch of folders, use the third party System Preference Launchpad Control, it’s free and works as a sql frontend to the Launchpad database.

Again, this works in OS X 10.7, OS X 10.8, OS X 10.9, and newer.

Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016: Copy View to other folders

Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 have a feature called “Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders” which allows you to copy the View of a folder to another folder without needing to make a View template first.

You can access this feature via;

tab View-> button Change View-> Apply Current View to Other Mail Folders…

When you select the top folder (enabled by default) and the option “Apply view to subfolders”, you’ll apply the View to all your mail folders at once.

Inside this enclosed, autonomous motorcycle, two passengers would sit facing one another, given a rare chance to relax, chat, and get to know one another (or ignore each other and look at their phones).

Investing the time and effort to partner with principals strengthens our schools and communities while developing a skilled workforce for local businesses. More importantly, public/private partnerships contribute a proven-results framework for ending the cycle of poverty by opening access to well-paying jobs, strong neighborhoods, and brighter futures.

Helios STEM Academy…
The Hillsborough County Public Schools and Council for Educational Change STEM Strong and Steady journey, supported by a grant from the Helios Foundation, began in August 2012. The Council obtained the grant and facilitated the process along with district leaders and participants from 17 middle schools. The academy model program began with the vision to develop a greater understanding of STEM, provide additional STEM training, and increase communication and collaboration among STEM educators. It has resulted in the development of 12 integrated middle school STEM lessons that connect inquiry-based instructional practice, rigorous science and mathematics standards and technology-augmented learning. The lessons were created, presented, vetted, recreated, enhanced, and are now available online to Hillsborough educators.

On June 9-11, over one hundred middle school educators from the growing STEM initiative attended the Academy, “Solving the STEM Equation.” The networking and conversations about integrated STEM lessons continued along with presentations of the original and new lessons. Additional presentations were made by STEM related partners from Tampa, such as the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and theMuseum of Science and Industry (MOSI).

According to a 2009 Internship Survey,

67.7% of 2007-08 interns were offered full-time positions;

83.6% of these offers were accepted; and

35.3% of employers’ full-time, entry-level hires came from their internship programs.

Increasing employee-retention rate. The proof for the test-driving theory is in the positive employee retention figures: According to the same Internship Survey, almost 40% of employers reported a higher five-year retention rate among employees they’d hired via an internship program.
Enhancing perspective. New people bring with them novel perspectives, fresh ideas, and specialized strengths and skill sets.

Taken together they provide faculty and administrators interested in introducing or expanding innovation and entrepreneurship programs with the background literature, models, and assessments needed to be successful. Also included are two articles on Social Entrepreneurship – an important, and also expanding part of the field that is especially attractive to underrepresented minority and women students.
